The barrage of questions is at an end. “Very good, Jamie Pond,” declares Dr. Mischief. Inside his ice palace, he has removed his hat, and you can see that he is a bald man with an unusual scar across part of his forehead. The Chihuahua also never seems to leave his arms. “It seems that you are who you say you are. On the morning of Wednesday the 23rd you will be welcome to visit RAGE’s base and learn all about how we intend to acquire the Pinky data set. The base is near the Hawaiian islands— an agent of mine will escort you there from Waikīkī Beach.”

Well… you’ll have some time to kill until that next rendezvous. The private jet takes you back to “Jamie Pond’s” home city of San Francisco, but from there you immediately catch a flight to Honolulu. You’re set to touch down a whole day before the planned visit, and once you’ve infiltrated the base, Hawaii’s as good a place as any to spend some overdue vacation time. And of course, if you’re going to live the high life on an island paradise for a couple of weeks, you might as well also invest in a sweet vehicle.
