Neuroquest: The Golden Ganglion Marathon

Eyewire, citizen science, marathon, fantasy adventure, Neuroquest

As the battle for Order and Chaos seems to be nearing its conclusion, your magically-infused geographical sense tells you that both armies have swept surprisingly close to the farthest roots of the Golden Ganglion itself! Perhaps the side quest was less of a distraction than you might have thought. Excitedly, your party searches the horizon once more, and there! You see it in the distance! Those gold branches still hold the faintest glimmer of light, but the neuron-like tree (or the tree-like neuron) has plainly been withering all week. When you journey closer to investigate, the soil turns dryer and dryer. It seems the climate in this land has undergone a change; now the Golden Ganglion is suffering from drought. Many branches are hanging limp, barely attached, some even broken.

Naturally, you take a deep breath and tip over the Goblet of Science, letting its precious Waters of Wisdom spill. Immediately, that golden glow increases. “The tree is quickening!” you cry.

“Not so fast,” remarks your dwarven warrior, brow furrowed. “You have revived it, but unless the branches are put back in place, the Golden Ganglion will never shed as much light as it did before.”

That settles that; it’s time for some fantastical horticulture. Otherwise your faraway cube farm in the land of the Neuro-Gnomes may never recover! Starting at 8:00 AM EDT on 4/26, you will have 24 hours to restore the Golden Ganglion to its original glory.

Bonuses for your participation:
Trace 20 cubes – 2,000 point bonus
Trace 50 cubes – 5,000 point bonus
Trace 150 cubes – 20,000 point bonus

For every 150 cubes above 300 cubes – 2,500 points
