Neuroquest: Accuracy Happy Hours
Following in the mysterious Reaper’s footsteps, you have obligingly begun fulfilling this so-called prophecy by journeying over hill and over dale, until you stand in a grand, rocky valley with an enormous lake and waterfall in its center. This is already far from your gnomish home, but you can guess this must be the Waters of Wisdom of which the Reaper spoke. (The stone sign engraved with the runes for “WATERS OF WISDOM” might also be a tip-off.)
As you and your fellow adventurers make your way to the lake’s edge, you come upon an old knight sitting in a chair carved from driftwood. Next to this chair sits a heavy oak cabinet full of numerous drinking vessels. “Salutations, little Neuro-Gnomes!” croaks the knight, stirring from his sleep. “The Reaper passed me here, the day before yesterday. He said that you must collect the Waters of Wisdom and bear them hence. It is my sacred task to inform you that you may certainly collect the waters, but beware: no cup can hold them but the Goblet of Science, which sits in this cabinet. All other vessels will leak the Waters like a sieve.”
“Which one is the Goblet of Science?” wonders your axe-wielding dwarf.
“Well, it was not my sacred task to know that. You’ll have to search for yourself. So choose… but choose wisely.”
You will have two opportunities to select the Goblet of Science. All times are EDT:
Session 1 – 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on 4/21
Session 2 – 10:00 PM to 11:59 PM on 4/21
EyeWire HQ will bestow typical Happy Hour bonuses for your work during each of those time frames, but there’s more than that to earn!
80% accuracy – Accuracy Challenger badge.
90% accuracy – Accuracy Master badge.
95% accuracy – Accuracy Grandmaster badge.
Extra point bonuses will be added to your baseline Happy Hour earnings, as follows:
1st Place Accuracy – 10,000 point bonus
2nd Place Accuracy – 8,000 point bonus
3rd Place Accuracy – 6,000 point bonus
Anyone else with 95% – 5,000 point bonus
Anyone else with 90% – 3,000 point bonus
Anyone else with 80% – 2,000 point bonus
Under 80% but played at least 20 cubes – 1,000 point bonus
Please remember that these bonuses are non-cumulative; first place accuracy gets a flat 10,000 points, for example.
Mentors: You are still allowed to mentor people during these time windows. Please just use your best judgment as to whether someone is asking you for basic newbie help vs. trying to have you boost their accuracy on cube after cube.
Scythes: Please avoid scything during these time windows. Even though accuracy for this will be retroactively calculated, we would prefer to go with accuracy based on players’ raw tracing. By the time this challenge is scored, don’t worry, admins will have corrected consensus as needed.
