Grim’s Haunted Carnival: The Skelethon

eyewire, citizen-science, marathon, muller-cells, scythe, cit sci, syke, heroes of neuroscience, eyewire characters, muller,

Uh oh, that last ride went longer than you thought! Supposedly the park should be closed by now.

And yet… now might be when Grim’s carnival minions really come out to play. Some of the lights are still on, though they’re dimmer, with stranger colors, and you can sense cold, ghostly beings passing you by. Ahead of you sits a ride that you could have sworn wasn’t there before: a decrepit minecart ride from which faint, odd noises can be heard. Are they from whatever creatures dwell within? There’s no barker here, just a sign reading BEHOLD THE SKELETHON. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. RIDE LASTS 24 HOURS.

This must be one of Grim’s more experimental creations. Whatever a Skelethon involves, you’re game for something unfamiliar; just make sure to load up on more cotton candy so that you’ve got the energy to endure. Starting at 8:00 AM EDT on 10/24, you will have 24 hours to complete 1-2 cells! Usual marathon bonuses and cell renaming thresholds apply.

Swag (generously sponsored by @susi): 1 shirt, 1 mug, 1 poster, and 3 sticker sheets will be raffled among the top 25% of participating players!

If the first cell finishes before the 24-hour mark, a second marathon cell will be launched to see if it can finish by that mark as well. Should the second cell indeed finish on time, it will earn the second-place name vote.

Special Guidelines for Scythes

Bonus: Normal SC bonuses are doubled!

Naming: Admins will be counting every 3 SC votes as 1 cube added to your cube count for naming eligibility. So, for instance, you can trace 100 cubes, SC 300 cubes, and still earn nominating rights, or achieve the same result by tracing 150 cubes and SCing 150.
