Eyewirers, you have almost completed the challenges set out to help recover the missing cryptids plaguing the land, but one particularly fearsome, legendary lifeform remains:

THE CHUPACABRA

The most prized monster in the facility from which it fled, the Chupacabra has ravaged livestock across the Americas, first during the mid-1990s in Puerto Rico. It has now drained one of our very own data set’s neurons and we need to regenerate the cell! If the cell is completed in 24 hours, we will also have time to piece together the forensic evidence of the Chupacabra’s attack and figure out where it went, so that we can trap it. Otherwise… the Chupacabra may escape into the wilderness once again.

So what’s the plan? From 10:00 AM on 3/25 to 10:00 AM on 3/26 (all times EDT), the cell you need to regenerate will be up on EyeWire.

Swag: Based on number of cubes completed, the top 15 players will each win an EyeWire t-shirt. Each player who completes more than 20 cubes will also win an EyeWire sticker.

Bonuses for your participation:
Complete 20 Cubes – 2,000 point bonus
Complete 50 cubes – 5,000 point bonus
Complete 150 cubes – 20,000 point bonus
Complete 300 cubes – 40,000 point bonus
For every 150 cubes above 300 cubes – 2,500 points

If the cell is completed as hoped within 24 hrs, Chupacabra hunters who:

  • Complete at least 50 cubes will win rights to vote on a new name for the Chupacabra Cell.
  • Complete at least 150 cubes will win rights to nominate a new name for the Chupacabra Cell.

Good luck, everyone!
