Grim’s Trick or Treat: Ghost in the Machine Marathon

This very last house at the end of the road supposedly belongs to lead developer Chris (@Kelv). Which is to say… situated among the mighty cloud servers that support Eyewire, you see this small house but there are more lights from the servers than the house itself. Is anyone home? Does anyone even really live there? It almost seems abandoned.

You walk closer, and closer, until you’re near the door and can shine your flashlight on the building. This could be a nice little place, from the look of it, except for how dark it remains, with cobwebs across the windows and dead leaves clogging the gutter.

A sign in one window catches your eye; it’s made of cardboard and scrawled hastily with a marker. HELP! GHOSTS!

Your skin prickles, and right on cue, an unearthly, spine-tingling howl emits from the house. The shadows around you seem to lengthen, even in the night, as finally the windows glow but with an unnatural shade of green.

It seems that the so-called ghosts in the machine have emerged from the servers and infested Chris’ home! Now he’s trapped. We’d better help him fend off the ghosts by entering with a magical warding cell before it’s too late!

Starting at 8:00 AM EDT on 10/23, you will have 24 hours to complete one or more cells! Bonus & cell renaming information can be found in your in-game notifications.

Swag (generously sponsored by @susi): The top player (defined by number of points earned during the marathon time period) will win 1 t-shirt! Also, among the top 25% of players, 1 player will be raffled 1 mug, 1 player will be raffled 1 poster, and 3 more players will be raffled the choice of sticker or magnet.

Let’s rescue HQ’s lead developer! For science (and @Kelv)!
