February Marathon!
Update: The Marathon was completed at 11:27 this morning, in 13 hours and 27 minutes. That beats our previous record by 1 hour and 3 minutes! Didn’t do enough cubes to earn as many bonus points as you like? Never fear, those rewards continue until 10 pm on the 28th, so trace on! Here is the Final Cube Count Sheet. Points will be awarded Monday 3/2 at 1 PM EST.
The February Marathon begins at 10:00 PM EST on Friday 2/27 and runs for 24 hours. You can read about our plan for semi-monthly marathons here, but in the meantime, these are the bonuses you can expect for participating:
Complete 20 Cubes – 2,000 point bonus
Complete 50 cubes – 5,000 point bonus
Complete 150 cubes – 20,000 point bonus
Complete 300 cubes – 40,000 point bonus
For every 150 cubes above 300 cubes – 2,500 points
If the cell is completed within 24 hrs, mappers who:
- Complete at least 50 cubes will win rights to vote on a new name for the February marathon cell.
- Complete at least 150 cubes will win rights to nominate a new name for the February marathon cell.

Edit (2/20): This marathon was originally scheduled to run on Feb 20. We’ve encountered some last minute technical problems that have led us to decide the marathon would be best postponed to avoid any delays in gameplay or reaping. You can now expect the marathon to begin at 10:00 PM EST on Friday 2/27.
