EyeWire #OnFire Progress Report

It’s been almost a full week since EyeWire #OnFire began and wow what a week! Two starbursts have been completed and only 6 remain until the dataset for the first paper is 100% complete. Stellar!

This week players completed 26,230 cubes (over 6K more than a typical week). Over 18,000 of those cubes were Starbursts, making this week the 2nd highest starburst cube week in EyeWire history after the Geek Week Games during which 22K starburst cubes were done (and 53K cubes overall).

The followinc cube counts include all cubes and EyeWire #OnFire only applies to starbursts; however, the numbers are astonishing so thought we’d share

81 players made it to bracket 1 (50 cubes/wk); 52 players made it to bracket 2 (100 cubes) — and here’s where it gets really amazing. 16 people made it to the 500 cube/week category! And we have until midnight tonight before the week is deemed complete. Remember you get bonus points for over 95% accuracy. Finally, we added a special CrazyMan bracket of 1,000 cubes per week and 3 players have reached this number. Check the raw EyeWire #OnFire cube leaderboard here.
