The Games are live now! Two new neurons are up: play Geek Week n00b (beginners) and Geek Week Starburst (advanced). Tuesday and Thursday are 24 hour challenge days – play for big bonuses.

You as a community win naming rights to all neurons completed during the Geek Week Games (between now and 11:59 pm on Sat, Aug 10).

  • Complete 50 cubes to earn a vote.
  • Complete 100 cubes to nominate a neuron name.

Also coming this week: new graphics and animations, EyeWire swag (finally!), and two hangouts on air (Tues 8/6: Neuroscience of Memory and Thurs 8/8: Seung Lab Tour, both at 2 PM US ET). Check our Google+ page for events and additional posts.

Subscribe to the blog for the latest Geek Week announcements. See you online at eyewire.org.

Why EyeWire?

Solving the mysteries of the brain requires something more powerful than a supercomputer – YOU. Together, we’re mapping neural circuits to decipher the mysteries of vision.

EyeWire is a game to map the brain from Sebastian Seung’s Computational Neuroscience Lab at Princeton. Over 150,000 people from 145 countries play.
