Zombies vs Vampires: EyeWire Tests a New Type of Competition
One of our developers, Katya (username: kradul) has unleashed a new system for holding challenges onto Eyewire! The zombies and vampires were among the first to utilize it. Here is an exclusive interview with two zombies (formerly known as jax123 and b_hailey) that I was able to get before they feasted on my delicious brain. (I would like to thank Google Translate for translating this interview from zombie to English)
DannyS: How do you feel about the new challenge system?

(I think it’s really great! I love being able to see updated scores in real time. It makes the challenge (and the trash talking) more fun!)

(Yes, but in a loving, caring, eyewire-y way. We zombies can make sure we kept the vampires stringing along just close enough to keep within reach for snacks, but far enough ahead that we hope to ensure our ultimate victory.)
DannyS: What uses of this new system would you like to see in the future?

(I agree with Jax, it will be perfect for Happy Hours, or for another boys vs girls competition. Maybe we could do something similar to the IFLS vs Eyewire Elite game with it.)
DannyS: How do you feel this changed the chat experience? (for zombie-zombie interactions and zombie-vampire interactions)

(I really enjoyed the colored dots by each user’s name. It definitely added an element of camaraderie. I think the visual team recognition also increased participation in the contest.)

(I agree with b_hailey the dots showing the team was a great idea, you could see who to cheer on to victory! Zommmbies of course! It also allowed new players to see what what going on and to be invited into the group quickly. All in all i give the new feature two thumbs up….wait..I only have one…)
DannyS: Any final thoughts?

(The poor vampires put up a decent fight, but when night fell they all seemed to disappear from their computers in order to hunt before sunrise. I guess the coffins must have better internet connections.)
