Come see us at the World Science Festival!
Calling all NYC EyeWirers!
EyeWire will be at the World Science Festival’s Innovation Arcade in Brooklyn on the campus of NYU’s Polytechnic Institute this Saturday, June 1 from noon to 8 pm. You can download a map of the festival here.
An outdoor canopied ‘arcade,’ will feature “the next wave of interactive science games” that utilize crowdsourced data, physical interaction, and bio-tech. Come say hello.
Join the World Science Festival as we transform a picturesque quad in downtown Brooklyn into a staging ground for future-shaping innovations. It’s an unforgettable day of interactive video games, 3-D printed wares, and hi-tech installations—a showcase of the “best of the best” in the fields of science and technology. This year we have robots that fly and robots that save lives; cocktails made with a super evaporator; amazing live performances by Blue Man Group tech-guru Bill Swartz, plus an exciting line up of talks, demos, and workshops.
This year Obama challenged scientists everywhere to help map the brain. Want to help? Join EyeWire, a community of 60,000 gamers from 130 countries are helping decipher the mysteries of information processing in the brain. Using a web based game you can help map neural networks in the retina—a big step towards mapping brain.
Cara Santa Maria of the Huffington Post will interview me at 3:15 pm ET on the main stage — check the World Science Festival’s homepage to watch the livestream.
