Semi-monthly marathons starting 2/20! Get ready!
Did you like playing on last month’s marathon cell during the Titan Wars? Are you a fan of marathons in general? If so, today is your lucky day. Here at EyeWire HQ we are pleased to announce that just about every month we’re going to start doing marathons, sometimes as part of larger competitions but just as frequently on their own. All marathons last 24 hours and basically consist of trying to fully complete one cell (or two split half-cells) in the allotted time.
Bonuses for all marathon participation:
Complete 20 Cubes – 2,000 point bonus
Complete 50 cubes – 5,000 point bonus
Complete 150 cubes – 20,000 point bonus
Complete 300 cubes – 40,000 point bonus
For every 150 cubes above 300 cubes – 2,500 points
If the cell within 24 hrs, mappers who:
- Complete at least 50 cubes will win rights to vote on a new name for the marathon cell.
- Complete at least 150 cubes will win rights to nominate a new name for the marathon cell.
This month we will just be holding a “regular,” low-key marathon— no surrounding week-long competition— starting at 10:00 PM EST, Friday 2/20. We’re going to see how a weekend marathon goes. That will be a late start time for some of you, but we know that hits peak hours for our Korean players, and then you’ll still have most of the day on Saturday the 21st to finish.
