Rprentki is retiring

Hi all!

I wanted to let you know that I’ll be leaving Eyewire at the end of the month. My last day will be January 30th. I’ve been here for 6 years; I started at the lab back before Eyewire was even a thing! My first job at the lab was doing cell reconstruction on a desktop program called Omni. I’ve been here a long time, and it’s been awesome. I’ve seen us go from being ecstatic that we managed to finish more than one cell in a month, to doing over 100 in a single month. I’m so proud of what we’ve done together: Bipolar Fields, Marathons, Hunts, Evil Cubes, 100 Cells in a month! I’m going to miss Eyewire and all the players so much!

Now, where am I going? A lot of you guys know that I’ve been going to school full time for the last year and a half, and working at Eyewire at night and on weekends. I’ve been studying furniture making here in Boston, and I need to spend more time working on projects for school. So that’s what I’ll be doing now.

Cheers, and good luck!

For Science!

P.S. Here’s me sawing a giant board in half, and a cabinet I built, and a chair!
