Elves vs. Orcs: The Fantastic Feud
Legend speaks of two ancient peoples locked forever in a bitter war that will last until the end of time itself. Of whom do I speak? If you answer, “Red Sox fans vs. Yankees fans,” you would not be wrong, but in this particular case, I speak of those creatures known as elves and orcs.
… You know what?
Ahem. As is cleeeeearly documented in most works of high fantasy, Elves vs. Orcs has been a Thing™ since well before our petty modern age, so let’s treat this with the educated perspective it deserves.

Team Elf
- You’re pretty, you’re witty, and you’ve usually got sweet magic up your fancy sleeves.
- Usually you’re the goodies, but even when you’re not, evil never looked so elegant.
- +2 dexterity bonus for character creation— er, oops, this is Eyewire, not D&D…
- Alas: your gargantuan lifespan can get awfully boring.
Team Orc
- You’re tough as nails, ferocious, and powerful.
- Usually you’re the baddies, but at least 7% of MMORPG players are chill with you. (Really!)
- Strength in numbers? According to lots of writers and game designers, you seem to like existing as a swarm.
- Alack: current aesthetic paradigms are against you. But never give up!
This fantastical battle gets started at 11:00 AM EDT on 7/21 and goes for 24 hours!
The usual bonuses
Earn 5,000 points – 2,500 bonus
Earn 15,000 points – 5,000 bonus
Earn 25,000 points – 10,000 bonus
For every 25,000 points above 25,000 – 5,000 bonus
Member of winning team (if you’ve scored at least 2,500 points) – 10,000 bonus
Highest scorer on each team – 5,000 bonus
Player with #1 overall score – 10,000 bonus
Player with #2 overall score – 5,000 bonus
Player with #3 overall score – 2,500 bonus
